On the 3rd of February 2016, the Daler-Rowney Lukas group’s shareholders sold the entire share capital of the holding company to F.I.L.A. - Fabbrica Italiana Lapis ed Affini S.p.A. (“FILA”), an Italian Group listed on the Milan Stock Exchange. FILA is a producer of writing instruments and art supplies.
FILA has achieved strong growth over the last 20 years, through both internal growth and external acquisitions (Adica Pongo in Italy in 1994, Dixon Ticonderoga in the US in 2005, Lyra in Germany in 2008, Lapiceria Mexicana in Mexico in 2010 and Lycin in Brazil in 2012).
FILA also set up a Joint Venture with Maimeri in 2014 and acquired 51% of Indian Writefine Products in India in 2015.
Today Fila operates through 11 production facilities and 19 branches in 5 continents, employing 5000 people and presents an impressive brand portfolio.
The FILA and Daler-Rowney Lukas combination is a perfect fit for enhancing both of our product offering, geographical coverage and sales channel development. It is a fantastic opportunity for the next step of our development.
